Director of Korea Real Estate Board emphasizes supply linkage by strengthening on-site execution of maintenance projects

Emphasis on market inspection meeting… “We do our best to ensure that policy → supply continues.”

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Lim Ki-chang = Director Lee Heon-wook of the Korea Real Estate Institute announced that he will focus his capabilities on improving the field execution of maintenance projects to support the effective operation of the real estate supply measures promoted by the government.

According to the Real Estate Institute on the 8th, Director Lee held a real estate market inspection meeting at the Daegu headquarters the previous day and said, "As the government has established systems and policy measures to expand housing supply, the important thing now is to ensure that it leads to actual supply in the field."

At the meeting, Director Lee discussed ways to diversify support for maintenance projects, such as tweezer support for small-scale complexes (less than 500 households) to eliminate blind spots in maintenance projects, and instructed executives and staff to focus the agency's capabilities on reducing bottlenecks that occur in the process of connecting maintenance projects to actual housing supply.

Accordingly, the Real Estate Institute plans to identify step-by-step progress and causes of delays for maintenance sites where projects are delayed or experiencing difficulties, and provide support by linking existing professional functions such as construction cost verification and dispute mediation.

In particular, we will strengthen the function of identifying and coordinating disputes between interested parties, such as construction cost conflicts and unions and constructors, which are considered major causes of maintenance project delays, in advance. We plan to quickly share institutional difficulties identified in the field with the government and strengthen our role in improving policies.

Director Lee said, “We must carefully monitor whether there are any sites where maintenance projects are delayed or are experiencing difficulties during the implementation process, and if system improvement is necessary, we must quickly convey this to the government. As the government is making every effort to expand supply, we will do our best to ensure that the policy leads to actual supply in the field.”
