Stating that there are constant requests from lawyers regarding gun license fees, Minister Gürlek said, "Hopefully, in the package that will be brought to the agenda in October, we have reached a common agreement that the gun license fee will be charged at half the rate for the first application and no fee will be charged for subsequent renewals." he said.

Dear friends, we also have very young lawyer friends among us. We know what processes our country has gone through since 20, 30 or even 40 years ago and what price it has paid to get to where it is today. We all have to remember that today's social peace, political stability and civil representation ability did not always exist. For decades, this country has witnessed state of emergency practices, periods when the judiciary was rendered inoperable, and a legal system that was intended to serve the tutelage, not the citizens. Thank God, we are in a very good position today.
As a country and nation, we paid a great price. We got rid of the scourge of terrorism, which has been chronic from past to present and has become a shackle on the development, peace and security of our nation. We are extremely determined to permanently eliminate this threat. All these experiences clearly show the vital importance of unity and solidarity between the institutions of our state and all segments of our society.
My dear lawyer friends; If the state is a huge wall, each individual and each institution is a brick of this wall. There should never be any breaks, spills or gaps in this wall. One of the most important elements of today's functioning is our bar associations and the lawyers who form them. We always meet with bar association presidents and their management in every province we visit. We consult directly on professional matters. At the same time, to evaluate the local level situation and functioning of our judicial infrastructure in that province; We continue and are determined to continue our dialogue in order to further the harmony and professional corporate communication between our judicial organization and our lawyers.
Dear lawyers; However, I closely follow the work carried out by our Ankara Bar Association No. 2 through the Turkish World Legal Cooperation Commission. While our political, economic and cultural ties with the Turkish world, with which we share common historical and civilizational values, are strengthened, I consider it important to develop cooperation between our bar associations and lawyers in a wide range of areas, from education to arbitration, from legislative studies to mutual experience sharing. I wholeheartedly applaud the selfless work of these volunteer ambassadors in the Turkish world, which extends from the Adriatic to the Great Wall of China. I wholeheartedly congratulate our bar association management who work in this field and all our lawyers who contribute to these studies.
Dear friends, we are all members of a great justice family who undertake different responsibilities. Like the wheels of a clock, the efforts of our judges, public prosecutors, lawyers and all employees of our justice organization complement each other. Because the goal of all of us is; To build together an order in which rights are delivered to their owners on time and our citizens live in legal security. For this reason, our door is open to constructive, applicable and solution-oriented proposals to be submitted to our ministry. As long as there is law at the center of our solution, justice at the center of our goal, and the interest of our nation at the center of our work.
Dear lawyer colleagues, The world legal order is going through a historical test today. The double standards exhibited by most Western countries, which always talk about human rights, the rule of law and human dignity, in the face of serious grievances, have seriously shaken the trust in international law. People living under the guarantee of universal law in our nearby geography have been subjected to migration, genocide and massacre for decades; Unfortunately, we all witnessed that they were deprived of a just world order, proving that a drop of human blood is worth less than a drop of oil. Different attitudes towards cruelty and injustice, depending on the victim's identity, belief and geography, damage the claim of universality of international law. In this period when international organizations were ineffective and legal rules were applied differently according to the interests of powerful states, Türkiye; With the contributions of our legal institutions, bar associations and lawyers, we continue to adopt a consistent approach against human rights violations and strive for the effective operation of international law. I say clearly that this is one of the important duties and noble responsibilities that the Turkish nation has inherited from its history. Turkish justice and law will continue to be there wherever it is needed.
Dear participants; The picture we are faced with once again reveals the importance of a justice-centered, consistent and independent stance. Türkiye, with its political stability, developing economy, will for national unity and brotherhood, deep-rooted state tradition and strong legal system; It will continue to be the hope of those seeking justice in its region and around the world. The way to do this is to first strengthen our own internal front, protect our unity and solidarity, and build the safe future of our country on solid foundations. A Türkiye that is strong, peaceful and in solidarity within itself; It will make much greater contributions to human peace, regional stability and global justice. A society with a weak internal front is always doomed to extinction. About a hundred years ago, there were occupying forces advancing right next to Ankara, which was the center of our National Struggle; Their cannon fire reached as far as Polatlı. We must learn from our history and never become complacent. Undoubtedly, the strongest ground on which a strong Türkiye will rise is justice and legal security.
Dear members of our Ankara Bar Association No. 2; Everyone is equal before the law. No one can be exempt from the sanction of the law. Justice is the lifeline that everyone needs. No one can see themselves as privileged or in a privileged position. Just as social conscience will never tolerate it, the Turkish judiciary will continue to perform its duty uncompromisingly on this issue. The peace and security of our citizens is our top priority. Their conscience is the most accurate scale that reflects our reality.
With this understanding, as we have all witnessed recently, we have seen that popular personalities who are supposed to be examples for our society have damaged our national and moral values and poisoned our youth and future generations with their lifestyles that encourage lawlessness. We pursued this issue with determination by taking the necessary legal action. Every person and institution that paves the way for cultural and moral collapse is one of our primary targets that we closely observe and take precautions against. Likewise, we have taken steps to protect the rule of law and the rights of our nation against anyone who abuses the social solidarity projects carried out by our people in good faith. We have taken the necessary preventive measures against individuals and institutions trying to circumvent our laws in every field.
Being a lawyer is one of the most important elements of the legal order that keeps our justice system alive; It is a powerful institution that carries the voice of the citizen to the judicial authorities, embodies the freedom to seek rights, and at the same time serves as a public service. We know that there are ethical values that the legal profession and every member of this big family must be sensitive to.
