Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that three murders that remained unsolved for years were brought to light in the studies carried out under the coordination of the Unsolved Crimes Investigation Department.
One of these was the file of Zeynep Yıldırım, who has been missing since September 12, 2022.
As a result of the Presidency's efforts, a new suspect was found. It was determined that Yıldırım last communicated with Fethi Dağlı before he disappeared.
Based on the information obtained during the interrogation of Dağlı, who was in prison due to another murder investigation, a location showing was carried out on September 1, 2026.
The body of a woman was found in the area indicated by Dağlı.
In the examination carried out by the Forensic Medicine Institute, it was determined that the body belonged to Zeynep Yıldırım.
Fethi Dağlı was arrested again within the scope of the investigation into Yıldırım's death.
FETHİ D: MY BROTHER COMMITTED THE MURDER
Murder suspect Fethi Dağlı said in his statement that he went home with Zeynep Yıldırım and then his brother Yaşar D came home. He claimed that after a while, Yaşar D strangled Zeynep Yıldırım, who was sitting on the sofa, to death. It was learned that he later said that he and his brother took Zeynep Yıldırım out of the window of the house and buried her in the coal shed. Yaşar D's denied the accusations, saying that he did not commit the murder.
6 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED
6 people, including the murder suspect Feti Dağlı and his brother Yaşar D., whose procedures were completed, were sent to the courthouse after their procedures at the Public Order Branch Directorate. The suspects were arrested.
2 MORE MURDERS ARE IN HIS PAST
When Fethi Dağlı's past was examined, it was revealed that his name was previously involved in two separate murders.
The man committed his first murder 19 years ago.
Dağlı killed security guard Ahmet Karadağ in 2007, with whom he had an argument over a debt issue. He was released from prison in 2022, taking advantage of the opportunity for parole.
In 2024, Dağlı impersonated a woman via social media and contacted 23-year-old Erva Raziye Asar; He invited Asar to his home and strangled the young woman to death.
It was learned that after hiding his body in the deep freezer, he cut it into pieces and threw it into a construction pit.
RELATIONSHIP TIES ARE BEING INVESTIGATED BETWEEN FETHI DAĞLI AND ZEKİ DAĞLI
Police examined the past of Fethi Dağlı, who is said to be linked to three murders, and detected a striking similarity.
It was noticed that Dağlı had the same surname as serial killer Zeki Dağlı, known for 5 murders, and their hometown was in the same region.
According to the news in Sabah newspaper, after it was determined that there was only 36 kilometers between the villages of the two names, the police began to investigate whether there was a kinship bond between Fethi Dağlı and Zeki Dağlı.
15 DETAINED IN FATHER-DAUGHTER MURDER IN 2012
Minister Gürlek announced the details of two more unsolved perpetrator files in his announcement on social media.
Accordingly, the file regarding the murder of İsmail Akın and his 10-year-old daughter Elif Akın in 2012 in Nusaybin district of Mardin was re-examined after 14 years. Within the scope of the file, contradictions in the statements, HTS records, narrowed base studies and new findings were evaluated together.
As a result of the studies, the suspects of the murders were identified. 15 suspects were caught and detained in simultaneous operations carried out in four provinces. It was reported that efforts to capture a suspect are continuing.
7 DETAINED IN ABDURRAHMAN AYSU MURDER IN 2016
As a result of new studies carried out on the murder of Abdurrahman Aysu, who was killed in Manisa Akhisar in 2016, the perpetrators of the incident and the suspects who were considered to have played a role in hiding the crime were identified.
7 suspects were detained in operations carried out in Manisa, Bursa and Istanbul under the coordination of our Akhisar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
