14-year-old Venezuelan teenager is found dead in the forest in Paraná; stepfather, named as suspect, dies in confrontation with police

A 14-year-old Venezuelan teenager was found dead in a forested area in the Monte Verde neighborhood, in Floresta, in the north of Paraná, on Saturday morning (17). According to the Military Police (PM-PR), her stepfather, aged 26, is suspected of the crime and died in a confrontation with police officers on a rural road in Maringá.

According to the PM, the body was found after the corporation was called to respond to the incident. The expert identified injuries to the teenager's upper chest, compatible with stab wounds.

After locating the body, police began searching for the suspect, with the support of drones and sniffer dogs.

At around 8pm, the man was found on a rural road in Maringá, also in the north of the state. According to the PM, he shot at the police officers during the attempted approach, and the team retaliated. The suspect was shot, and the Fire Department confirmed his death at the scene.

Until the publication of this report, there was no information about the motivation for the crime.
