Tom Cruise won the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award! The Internet is eyeing the new movie "a tragic loss of NT$8 billion"

Hollywood superstar "Tom Cruise" has gained the highest honor in the film industry! The 64-year-old has been in the film industry for more than 40 years. He has established himself as an action king with the "Defender" and "Mission: Impossible" series. Now the American Film Institute (AFI) has officially announced that it will award him the 52nd Lifetime Achievement Award. The ceremony is expected to be held on April 24 next year at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

In fact, Tom Cruise's ex-filmmaker ex-wife Nicole Kidman won the same award as early as 2024. This is another interesting coincidence that former Hollywood screen couples have entered the Hall of Glory one after another.

According to "Reuters", "Associated Press" and other foreign media reports, Kathleen Kennedy (Kathleen Kennedy), chairman of the board of directors of the American Film Institute and a well-known producer, praised Tom Cruise as an icon in the global film industry. Whether as an actor or a producer, he has shown extraordinary enthusiasm and devotion to movies. He especially admires his belief in the power of movies to unite people. She also described him as an important promoter of American movies to the world.

However, despite the good news for Tom Cruise's career, the new movie "Digger" in which he recently starred has failed miserably at the box office. It is even reported that the film company may lose as much as 245 million US dollars (nearly NT$8 billion), creating an embarrassing contrast of "award success but box office failure".
