Udine ambush: a 32-year-old wanted for the murder of Abdellatif Bensefiyan

In the sights of the investigators investigating the ambush in Udine, in which Abdellatif Bensefiyan, aged 61, died, there is a 32-year-old man from Morocco, with no criminal record, formally resident in Rive d'Arcano (Udine) but for some months he had been in the Codroipo area and surrounding areas. The investigators' belief is in fact that the 32-year-old, after having fled on foot through the fields, may try to quickly move away from Italy and reach Morocco, where he has interests and relatives.

The motive for the ambush could be traced back to the romantic relationship the man had with the victim's sister. A relationship that the attacker would not have agreed to end.

The victim worked in the newspaper distribution sector and lived in Udine, where he leaves his partner. Meanwhile, investigators are sifting through every possible trace left by the fugitive, verifying movements, contacts and possible supports that could allow him to reach an exit point from the country. The smartphone traces and surveillance cameras appear to be a valuable element in facilitating the capture of the fugitive. A case of murder has been opened in the Udine Prosecutor's Office, which could be aggravated by premeditation.
