[Reporter Chen Yongji/Taipei Report] Formosa New Intelligence, a subsidiary of Formosa Plastics Group, has taken another step forward in its AI industry layout. Formosa New Intelligence announced that it has signed a letter of intent for cooperation with Chuangxi Information, using Formosa Plastics Mailiao Industrial Park as the first cooperation site to jointly build an AI Data Center (AIDC). The two parties also plan to establish a CSP (cloud service provider) joint venture to undertake AIDC operations and computing services, further strengthening Formosa New Intelligence's strategic positioning in the AIDC market.
Wang Ruiyu, chairman of Formosa Plastics New Intelligence, pointed out that this progress is not just a new AIDC construction plan, but more importantly, it is about transforming existing industrial resources into new growth momentum in the AI era. Formosa Plastics has long accumulated large-scale industrial sites, power and public facilities and other conditions to support the operation and upgrading of Taiwan's manufacturing industry. As the demand for AIDC construction increases, these existing advantages can create new industrial value. Formosa Plastics New Intelligence will integrate resources and invest in the field of AI digital infrastructure to expand the application space of new energy businesses in the AI industry.

Wang Ruiyu said that the purpose of this special plan to establish a CSP joint venture is to connect AIDC construction, operation and computing services, so that Formosa Plastics' role can be extended from front-end engineering to back-end services. It can also accumulate operating models and market experience through demonstration cases, which will serve as the basis for expanding into more fields and applications in the future, and gradually establish a complete AIDC business layout.
Liu Huiqi, general manager of Formosa Plastics New Intelligence, explained that the first wave of AIDC construction cooperation is initially planned to be MW-scale and will be promoted in the Mailiao Industrial Park of Formosa Plastics Corporation. The two parties will integrate site conditions, power supply, public systems and data center related equipment according to the professional division of labor to complete the site construction and test acceptance. At the same time, the modular design solution will help shorten the initial setup time, and subsequent staged deployment and flexible expansion can be based on customer needs. After AIDC is put into operation, the CSP joint venture will continue to operate services.
Chen Zhenglun, chairman of Chuangxi, said that competition in AI infrastructure is no longer just about the number of GPUs, but also tests power, computing power, cooling, network, information security and overall operational capabilities. This cooperation integrates the resources and expertise of both parties. Chuangxi will introduce smart operations, information security and global network capabilities, and subsequently develop services such as host hosting and computing power leasing, transforming Mailiao's existing industrial and energy conditions into AI computing power service capabilities.
