Alessandro Di Battista returned from Cuba and was hospitalized at Gemelli

Alessandro Di Battista returned to Italy from Cuba yesterday and was hospitalized at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome. The plane that brought him back to the country landed yesterday morning at 8am at Ciampino airport, from where the former M5s parliamentarian was transferred by ambulance to hospital. Di Battista was on the Caribbean island for a journalistic report when he was hospitalized following severe head pain. He underwent emergency surgery last week and was in a hospital in Havana until yesterday.

Treatment will continue at Gemelli

Di Battista will continue his treatment at Gemelli. "Given that I don't know the clinical picture of Alessandro Di Battista, nor the reason for the surgery nor the outcome of the surgical operation to which he underwent in Havana, I feel like saying one thing: if he survived a medical flight of around 12 hours, this is certainly a good sign", Giulio Maira, internationally renowned neurosurgeon, former holder of the Chair of Neurosurgery and director of the Institute of Neurosurgery, declared yesterday to Adnkronos Salute of the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome.
