Millions of citizens in the USA are called upon to elect members of the House of Representatives and senators. The general election will redefine all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 Senate seats.

According to projections, the US Democrats will win a majority in both chambers of Congress.

The absolute majority in the House of Representatives is 218 seats. The Republicans have so far had 218 seats here, the Democrats 214.

According to the interim results of the AP news agency, the US Democrats will get a large majority of 265 seats here. The Republicans have 163 seats.

According to media reports, tech billionaire and Trump supporter Elon Musk alone donated $276 million (247 million euros) to organizations that supported Republican candidates in November.

The governors in 36 states will also be newly elected. California is also voting on a tax on the rich, and in Idaho and three other states, citizens are deciding on abortion rules.
