German Chancellor Merz reiterated that they stand by Israel

Merz gave a speech at the meeting of CDU's youth organization Junge Union in Bonn.

Stating that they will continue to support Ukraine, Merz stated that they cannot leave this country and its people alone in the fifth difficult winter of the war.

Arguing that they also saw that Russia was ready to escalate tensions, Merz said, "The Polish Prime Minister explained in detail what is currently happening in Poland at lunch in Brussels yesterday, without mobile phones or employees. The threat is very real for all of us." he said.

Merz stated that he does not understand how the Left Party and the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in Germany still continue the "game of belittling" these threats and turn a blind eye to it.

Stating that Junge Union stands by Ukraine and Israel, Merz stated that at the "Germany Day" event held three years ago, there were Israeli flags in the entire hall and the Israeli Ambassador to Berlin was the guest.

Stating that nothing has changed on this issue, Merz said, "We stand by Israel. We stand up against anyone who questions Israel's right to exist in Germany." made his assessment.

Prime Minister Merz noted that they oppose anyone who tries to make anti-Semitism acceptable in society again in Germany and said, "In the swamp of the far right, in the halls of the left, in the field of culture or anywhere else. Anti-Semitism has no place in Germany. It will remain this way and we will do everything to prevent it from spreading further in our country." he said.

Stating that there is a harsh political polarization in Germany, Merz pointed out that the Greens and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) were holding meetings with the Left Party in Berlin.

Merz argued that after the Berlin State Council elections, the Greens and the SPD were trying to extract so-called concessions from the Left Party, which should actually be considered completely natural.

Prime Minister Merz argued that those who want to preserve democracy in the country should not hold meetings with such extreme leftists and form a coalition, saying, "This is not acceptable for the sake of protecting democracy. This cannot happen. Stop this work you are trying to start in Berlin. Stop moving on this path." he said.

Stating that they will also fight against AfD, Merz said, "They want to change this republic towards the extreme right and we must stand against them." he said.

Merz warned his party's MPs and said, "Whoever thinks that such people should be elected to public offices has no place in the CDU." shared his opinion.
