Altra Running is best known for its wide toe box, which lets toes relax and helps prevent blisters, and for its zero-drop platform, meaning your heel and forefoot sit at the same height. While this design may not be the most fashionable, it has earned Altra a devoted following among runners and hikers who value comfort, stability, and a more natural stride.
Apparently, that rugged practicality extends to the apocalypse. In One Battle After Another, Leonardo DiCaprio’s character, Bob Furguson, wears a pair of all-weather Altra Lone Peaks. It feels like a convincing product placement for a shoe designed to survive whatever you throw at it. The Lone Peak is comfortable, durable, and capable on uneven terrain, making it a particularly good choice for runners who prefer trails over pavement. Altras aren’t at the top of our list of the best running shoes, but for hiking and trail running, they are strong contenders.
If you need a pair of shoes capable of surviving your own dystopian adventures, here are the best Altra promo codes and Altra coupon codes currently available.
