In Gaziosmanpaşa, Canan Erdoğan (41) noticed a fast-moving minibus approaching them while she was walking towards her house on the sidewalk with her 2 children whom she had picked up from school. Erdoğan, who pushed his children aside at the last moment, was crushed under the minibus. Canan Erdoğan, who was taken out from under the minibus by the surrounding people, could not be saved in the hospital where she was taken. The minibus driver was detained by police teams.

Zahit Mahmut, who works at a workplace in the region, said, "The minibus was coming by scissors. The woman and her 2 children were coming from the other side. The minibus went up to this area and overturned directly on them. The woman was trapped under it. The children survived, but the woman passed away. They were walking on the pavement. The vehicle was out of control and coming fast, it was the fault of the minibus."
