Investigation into the 4-year-old boy's jersey removal during the Gençlerbirliği-Fenerbahçe match in Ankara

During the fight, a member of the Gençlerbirliği tribune reacted to the fact that the 4-year-old boy sitting with his father in the Gençlerbirliği tribune was wearing a Fenerbahçe jersey and asked for him to be removed from the tribune. Despite the intervention of the police officers on duty and the reactions of other fans towards him, the person forced the little fan to take off his jersey.

According to the statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect regarding the incident that took place during the match at Eryaman Stadium was Ş.A. An investigation was launched against him for the crimes of "Law on Preventing Violence and Disorder in Sports" and "depriving a child of his freedom". In this context, the teams examined the images shared on social media and determined that the police officer on duty took the little child in his arms and took him to a safe area and that there was no physical contact with the child.

Ş.A., who was determined to have reacted to the child, was detained by police teams.

Suspect Ş.A. The criminal judgeship of peace, to which he was brought upon the request of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, decided to apply the judicial control provisions regarding him not leaving the house during the investigation.

On the other hand, according to the statement made by Ankara Police Department, Ankara Provincial Police Chief Maksut Yüksek examined the security measures taken within the scope of the Gençlerbirliği-Fenerbahçe Super League match played at Eryaman Stadium.

Yüksek, who inspected the work carried out in the stadium and its surroundings before the match, received information about the measures taken and assignments.

While the teams were on duty throughout the entire process, from the fans' entry into the stadium to their safe departure from the area after the match, the necessary security measures were implemented in and around the stadium.
