The death of the Russian high-ranking, "distinguished" commander of the 4th Motorized Brigade was announced by the Russian officers' organization and the "Suvorov Brotherhood" channel, the Russian ASTRA Telegram channel, but also the official accounts of the Russian state propaganda media, RIA Novosti and TASS agencies. Ukrainian Pravda also reported that Major General Anton Grunis had died. Interestingly, he was said to have died shortly after he submitted a report to Vladimir Putin about the "conquest" of Constantinople, which is not true. The Russian occupiers have been trying to occupy it since October 2025. The fact is that because it is located close to the front line, fierce fighting takes place in its vicinity.

What is even more interesting, on August 28, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that the head of the ministry, Andrei Belousov, had awarded Grunis the highest state decoration, the "Golden Star" of the Hero of Russia, "for courage and heroism shown while performing military duties."

Anton Grunis graduated from the Kazan Military School named after Suvorov in 1996 - when he was not even 17 years old. He took part in the wars in Chechnya and against Georgia. He retired in 2021, but returned to the ranks of the Russian army after the launch of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He was to personally report to Putin about the current situation on the front. Information about the exact date and place of his death was not provided.

Psychological game for Konstantynówka

Konstantynivka is located in eastern Ukraine, in the Donetsk Oblast, in the Kramatorski district. It is located approximately 55 kilometers from Donetsk. Maintaining it is crucial to supplying Ukrainian units. The town is one of the most common characters in the psychological propaganda game between Russia and Ukraine.

Russia has repeatedly engaged in disinformation about Constantinople, announcing that it has fallen - for example on July 4 this year. On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggested a meeting there for Putin. "If Kostantynivka was under Russian control, perhaps Putin would have no problem meeting me there," he wrote on Platform X. A day later, on July 5, Ukraine officially announced that the occupation of the city by Russian forces was a lie from the Kremlin, which was confirmed by, among others, by independent: DeepStateMap, ISW, i.e. the Institute of War Studies or Live Universal Awareness Map.

Why is this city so important?

Konstantynówka is the last large center protecting the most important Ukrainian bastions in the east. It is one of the last major urban centers before Kramatorsk and Słowiański, so it can be described as a "gate" to these agglomerations. The loss of the city would open up a direct route for Russian troops deeper into the region.

According to Ukraińska Pravda, Konstantynówka has key industrial infrastructure that is used to support military operations, such as equipment repair.
