Apple AirPods Max 2 are 22 percent off right now at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy. I've tested more than 100 wireless earbuds and headphones, and for Apple loyalists, these are the over-ear headphones to get, especially if you bounce between your iPhone and MacBook often. The fact that they're $120 off the sticker price makes them a much more appealing buy and brings their price closer to options from Sony and Bose.

This isn't specifically an Amazon Prime Day sale; it's available at multiple retailers. If you're curious about other deals happening right now, be sure to check out our guides to the Absolute Best Prime Day Deals, Best Prime Day Apple Deals, and Best Prime Day Headphone Deals.

Apple AirPods Max 2 for $429 ($120 Off)

Apple AirPods Max 2 launched earlier this year, and while they look unchanged from the outside, they have a few key upgrades when you look a little closer.

The biggest is improved active noise-canceling (ANC). AirPods Max were already some of the best ANC headphones you could get—this second version improves on a winning formula with 1.5 times stronger ANC. Having tested this out in the real world, I can confirm they are better at blocking out sound of all kinds.

Other improvements are more software-focused, tied to Apple's H2 chip inside (upgraded from the H1 in the original AirPods Max). AirPods Max 2 now have many of the features carried over from the latest AirPods Pro, including live translation, adaptive audio, and conversation awareness.
