Azerbaijani Foreign Minister: Baku expects changes in the Constitution of Armenia to sign a peace treaty

Azerbaijan is receiving signals from Armenia to hold a referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the republic. This was stated by the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Jeyhun Bayramov, Caliber.az reports on the Telegram channel.

“Azerbaijan receives various signals from Armenia regarding holding a referendum and amending the constitution, but Baku’s position remains unchanged: constitutional changes are necessary to sign a peace agreement,” the diplomat emphasized.

Azerbaijan's requirements for the Constitution of Armenia are an exception to the reference to the 1990 Act of Independence from the Armenian Basic Law. It, according to Baku, contains territorial claims against Azerbaijan.
