A nurse in Taichung was hit by two Mercedes-Benz cars and died after returning home. The man responsible for the accident surrendered and was detained without permission.

A 38-year-old female nurse surnamed Chen in Taichung City was returning home from get off work in the early morning of the 8th. She was hit by a Mercedes-Benz driven by a 30-year-old man surnamed Lin, who had only bought it 21 days ago. She then turned back and ran over her twice to death. It is understood that the female nurse Chen was only about 100 meters away from the rental house at the time, but she suffered a tragic accident and could not return home. It made people feel sour. After the crime, the man Lin escaped and then drove the Mercedes-Benz that caused the accident and surrendered. The court allowed the custody, but was not allowed to see her.

This horrific case occurred at the intersection of Liuchuan East Road and Minquan Road in the West District of Taichung City. Ms. Chen was about to return home after work. Unexpectedly, she was only a few hundred meters away from the rental house, but her life would always stop on the last stretch of the road before going home. After investigation, Mr. Lin was driving a Mercedes-Benz C200, driving along Liuchuan West Road. When he turned left on Minquan Road, he hit Ms. Chen who was passing on the zebra crossing. What’s even more shocking is that after hitting someone, Mr. Lin did not stop to check, but continued to drive forward. He turned around at the next intersection, accelerated again and ran over the fallen Ms. Chen, and then escaped. The surveillance camera clearly captured the turning process of the vehicle. The car body even swayed significantly when it ran over Ms. Chen. When the ambulance crew arrived at the scene, Ms. Chen was obviously dead. The police immediately launched an investigation, and Mr. Lin later surrendered in the Mercedes that caused the accident.

After investigation, it was found that the Mercedes-Benz was about 8 years old. It had only been 21 days since Mr. Lin purchased it on August 18 this year and had the license plate. Unexpectedly, it became the vehicle that killed someone just 3 weeks later. There was no drunk driving or drug-driving. Mr. Lin looked abnormal when he arrived at the case, and he murmured to himself from time to time. Faced with the fragmented account of the incident, the Intermediate People's Court ruled that he should be detained after hearing, but it was not forbidden. The whole case continues to be investigated in depth to clarify the motive of Mr. Lin's crime.
