Meghan Markle is in talks to star in The Gentlemen

According to the BBC, Prince Harry's wife Meghan is in negotiations to star in British director Guy Ritchie's series The Gentlemen, which airs on the Netflix streaming platform.

These talks are in the early stages, but if successful, the role would mark the Duchess of Sussex's first significant film appearance since her wedding to Harry.

Meghan's possible participation in the series became known shortly after Harry and Meghan announced that they were returning to the UK in August.

The previous two seasons of The Gentlemen were filmed in England's picturesque Cotswolds, where the couple could presumably settle.

The comedy series The Gentlemen, starring actor Theo James, tells the story of a British duke who turns into a drug lord.

Exactly what role Meghan might play and other details of the negotiations have not been disclosed.

Previous seasons of the series also starred actors Hugh Bonneville and Vinnie Jones.

Megan's most famous past role was as lawyer Rachel Zane in the TV series Suits, where she starred for seven seasons. The last episode with her participation was released in 2018.

After her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018, Meghan put her acting career on pause. At the time, she told the BBC that she considered giving up cinema not a loss, but a “new chapter.”

However, Megan recently returned to acting for the first time in almost 10 years: she played herself in the comedy Close Personal Friends, which also starred Lily Collins and Brie Larson.

Resuming her acting career could bring considerable benefits to Meghan. According to the BBC, she also hopes that living in the UK will allow her to develop her lifestyle brand As Ever internationally.

As the BBC has learned, Prince Harry and Meghan intend to return to the UK in August and live in a private building outside London, which is not one of the official royal residences. The British newspapers Daily Telegraph and Sun were the first to report this.

Harry and Meghan's children, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet, are due to start studying at a British school in September.

At the moment, Prince Harry and Meghan have no plans to return to official duties as members of the royal family.

Their return to Britain became known after Prince Harry, his wife and their children met with King Charles at his residence in Gloucestershire in July.

Then the British monarch saw his grandchildren for the first time in more than four years. It was also Harry and Meghan's first trip to the UK together since 2022.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's intention to return to Britain has raised new questions about the extent to which their security should be funded by the budget.
