Russia's attack on Kyiv hits highest pace since invasion this month, ACLED analysis

According to the report, from September 1st to September 18th, there were 118 attacks on the Kyiv area. The previous highest number was 174 times in one month in March 2022. This month is not over yet and can be described as an unusual pace.

Attacks have been on the rise since July of this year, targeting warehouses and gas stations. Regarding the means of attack, although the use of missiles increased in July and August, the most common method of attack was unmanned aircraft. Recently, jet-propelled unmanned aircraft have also been introduced, and Ukraine is struggling due to its lack of interception methods.

Russia has stepped up its attacks throughout Ukraine, including in Kiev. According to ACLED, a total of 5,500 attempts were made in August.
