في دعواها القضائية، طالبت المؤسسات الإعلامية الثلاث بإصدار أمر تقييدي مؤقت ضد الحظر، بدعوى أنه ينتهك التعديل الأول للدستور الأميركي الذي يكفل الحق في حرية الصحافة.

وقالت المؤسسات في ملفها المقدم للمحكمة إن «هذا الحظر يُشكل اعتداءً مباشراً على التعديل الأول، وانتهاكاً صارخاً لأهم مبادئنا الدستورية».

الثلاثاء، ألمح ترمب إلى أن شبكة «سي إن إن» يجب ألا تغطي أخباره خارج البيت الأبيض أيضاً.

وقال ترمب للصحافيين الذين كانوا يغطون زيارته للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة هذا الأسبوع: «أنا متفاجئ من وجود (سي إن إن) هنا لتغطيتي، لا ينبغي لكم الوجود هنا».
