Putin: Russia is preparing for the Russia-Africa summit in October

Russia pays special attention to the development of relations with the African continent, Moscow is preparing for the third Russia-Africa summit in October, and expects to see a representative delegation from South Africa, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The head of state arrived in India on Friday for a three-day working visit. On the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi, the President met with South African leader Cyril Ramaphosa.

“Russia pays special attention to the comprehensive development of relations with African countries in general. We are actively preparing for the third Russia-Africa summit, which will be held in Moscow on October 28-29,” Putin said at the meeting.

The head of state noted that priority topics include digital technologies, artificial intelligence, peaceful atoms, independent payment systems, and food security.

“We expect to see a representative delegation from your country at these events,” he added.
