Minister Yumaklı: TMO purchased 11.5 million tons of product

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, stated in his statement that TMO carries out a strong procurement organization in the field to ensure that producers receive the reward of their labor on time.

Stating that TMO continues to accept products from producers in 769 purchasing centers, Yumaklı said, "11.5 million tons of products have been purchased so far at the beginning of the harvest season. We have paid approximately 120 billion liras to our producers."

Minister Yumaklı emphasized that TMO has a purchasing capacity of 20 million tons and said, "Our valuable producers should be blessed. We will purchase all the products coming to TMO. Our purchasing activities continue rapidly."

Underlining that grains have strategic importance for Türkiye, Yumaklı noted that wheat and barley are among the basic products of food supply security.

Reminding that Turkey ranks first in world flour exports and second in pasta exports, Yumaklı stated that strong production is critical for both the domestic market and exports.
