15-Year-Old American Student Injured in Juhu Hit-and-Run Incident

A 15-year-old American student was injured in a hit-and-run incident in Juhu, Mumbai, when a speeding motorcyclist crashed into her and fled. This is the second such incident in recent times in the western suburbs involving a school student. The teen, heading home from tuitions around 8:15 am, was struck opposite Bhaidas Hall. CCTVs captured the incident, showing a two-wheeler hitting her. She suffered a concussion, leg bruises, and a jaw injury. Her mother expressed deep concern as the student couldn't recollect the crash. Juhu Police have registered a case and are seeking the motorcyclist. Activists blame the removal of speedbreakers during Metro construction for the dangerous stretch, prompting calls to the BMC for restoration. Dhaval Shah of the Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizens Association emphasized the need for immediate action to prevent further incidents.

The incident has raised concerns among locals and parents about the safety of students in the area, especially given the recent frequency of such accidents.
