Software Engineer, 31, Allegedly Beaten to Death by Wife's Family in Delhi Over Matrimonial Dispute

A 31-year-old software engineer, Vinay Gupta, was allegedly beaten to death by his wife’s family in Delhi over a minor matrimonial dispute. Gupta’s family claims the attack was pre-planned.

Vinay Gupta, who worked at Adobe, was assaulted at his Laxmi Park, Nihal Vihar, home on Friday. Police have detained four people.

Gupta’s father, Premchand, said the dispute seemed minor initially but turned violent when his son arrived. Gupta’s mother, Renu, alleged the wife’s family attacked him, crushing his lungs, and that security cameras were conveniently off.

Gupta’s brother, Pradeep, found him critically injured and believes the assault was a calculated conspiracy.

The couple, married for three and a half years, has four-month-old twins. Police are investigating, with a case registered under murder and common intention sections.
