Breite Produktpalette geplant

Zunächst will das Institut den deutschen Privatkunden ein digitales Girokonto und Geldanlageprodukte wie Tagesgeld und Festgeld anbieten. Später sollen Produkte und Services zum Vermögensaufbau, Altersvorsorge sowie Kreditangebote das Angebot komplettieren. Zunächst sind 20 Bankfilialen in Großstädten geplant, in denen 600 Beschäftigte arbeiten. Sie kommen von der bisherigen Tochter Creditplus, die in der Crédit Agricole Deutschland aufgeht.

Crédit Agricole ist nach eigenen Angaben gemessen an der Kundenanzahl die größte Bankengruppe Europas und die neuntgrößte der Welt. In Deutschland ist Crédit Agricole seit mehr als 70 Jahren tätig und beschäftigt hierzulande bereits mehr als 2.000 Mitarbeiter.

Deutschland ist für Banken ein attraktiver Markt

Die Franzosen sind nicht die einzigen ausländischen Akteure, die verstärkt um Privatkunden in Deutschland buhlen. Im Juni 2025 war die spanische Großbank BBVA hierzulande gestartet und hatte mit einem Zins-Lockangebot für Aufsehen gesorgt. Seit diesem Mai lockt die US-Großbank JPMorgan Chase mit ihrer digitalen Privatkundenbank Chase in Deutschland um Kundschaft.

Kundeneinlagen stellen nach wie vor eine günstige Finanzierungsquelle dar. Und der deutsche Markt gilt als attraktives Pflaster: Ende des ersten Quartals 2026 summierte sich das Geldvermögen der privaten Haushalte hierzulande nach Zahlen der Bundesbank auf rund 9.490 Milliarden Euro. Mehr als ein Drittel davon (37,4 Prozent) sind Bargeld und Einlagen wie Tagesgeld.
