Istanbul Faculty of Medicine is preparing to celebrate its 200th anniversary next year. Türkiye's health infrastructure has been expanded with investments made in the last 24 years.
President Erdoğan made a statement at the Istanbul University Hospital Çapa Campus Mass Groundbreaking and Mass Opening Ceremony.
Here are the highlights of President Erdoğan's statements;
I send my greetings to all citizens of dear Istanbul. I would like to express my gratitude to every soldier of our health army.
I hope that all of these works will be beneficial to our city and our nation. I congratulate our Ministry of Health, our university and our contractor company, and I would like to thank our workers, civil servants and engineers who work hard to irrigate. I wish great success to all my brothers and sisters, from our physicians and surgeons to our caregivers, from our nurses to our administrative staff.
WE ARE REPRESENTATIVES OF A SERIOUS EXPERIENCE IN HEALTH
I wish a fruitful life to our citizens who will be treated in these facilities.
We are representatives of a serious accumulation in health. While there were dark scenes in the field of medicine in Europe, we have distinguished ourselves in this field in Anatolia since the 13th century. Istanbul Faculty of Medicine is also entrusted to us by our ancestors.
Continuity is essential in our state tradition. The mobilization of our Red Crescent and our Green Crescent during the years of the national struggle was embodied in these institutions. This spirit has emerged every time, from the Cyprus Peace Operation to the July 15 earthquake.
I congratulate all members of our Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, which will celebrate its 200th anniversary next year.
THERE ARE 168 BEDS, 39 OF WHICH ARE IN INTENSIVE CARE.
Istanbul Faculty of Medicine continues its activities successfully with its education and research activities and qualified health services. We are increasing this capacity with the investments we will lay the foundations for today.
There are 186 beds in our hospital, 39 of which are intensive care units. In addition, 56 polyclinics have a daily treatment capacity for 41 people.
We did not come to this point in health easily. As our people say, we went through bad days when patients and corpses were taken hostage in the hospital, when people who did not pay for the knife could not undergo surgery. With the investments and projects we have made and other steps we have taken in 24 years, we have managed to reverse this situation in health.
WE HAVE REBUILT ISTANBUL'S INFRASTRUCTURE
Our people would go abroad to receive health care. Now people from all over the world visit our country for healthcare. We now offer quality and effective health services to our people with our state hospitals and city hospitals. We literally rebuilt the health infrastructure of Istanbul. We opened 206 health facilities in Istanbul. We reached 45 thousand 390 bed capacity.
