Explaining his experiences to the AA correspondent, Hassan said that he had difficulty in taking his sick daughter to the doctor because the Israelis, who surrounded the region and usurped the Palestinian lands, blocked the roads.
Hassan stated that after contacting the Palestinian authorities, the ambulance, which could not reach the area in its first attempt, was later allowed to reach them.
Stating that they were able to reach the hospital after a risky journey with their children, Hassan stated that Israeli forces prevented him when he wanted to return home after completing the treatment.
The Palestinian mother explained the tragedy she experienced: "I went out to get my daughter treated, but then I couldn't return home." He explained it with his words.
Stating that he can see his house from a distance but cannot reach it, Hassan said, "My house is in front of my eyes, but I cannot reach it." he said.
Hassan, who said that his family could enter and leave their home whenever they wanted before, stated that the situation changed after the Israelis, who usurped Palestinian lands, surrounded their home and said, "We cannot open the door and go out anymore." he said.
They were denied access to water, electricity and food
Hassan said that the Israelis, who usurped Palestinian lands, set up a tent near his house about a week ago, blocked entrances and exits to the area, and then cut off the water and electricity of his house.
Noting that her family is having difficulty accessing food and other basic needs due to the siege, the Palestinian mother stated that their situation is getting worse day by day.
According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the houses of 3 Palestinian families have been under siege in the Ras al-Ayn region since August 9. Approximately 15 Palestinians, including 2 children, live in these houses.
OHCHR reported that although Israeli forces were in the area, they did not initially intervene to end the siege and prevented medical staff, solidarity visitors and journalists from reaching the families.
It was stated that Israeli soldiers entered the region later and seized the house belonging to Hassan's family and turned it into a military headquarters.
Hassan said that the soldiers asked his family to leave the house, but they refused to leave the area and temporarily settled in a nearby house belonging to his wife's relative.
"We cannot even plant a tomato seedling on our land"
Hassan's suffering was not limited to his inability to reach his home. The family cannot reach the agricultural lands around their home.
The Palestinian woman stated that they could no longer reach the land where her family had earned their living for years and said, "We cannot even plant a tomato seedling on our land." He expressed the difficulties they experienced with his words.
Hassan said that the Israelis who usurped Palestinian lands moved freely around the house and land, and that they could not benefit from the land they had worked for for years.
Pointing out that the purpose of what happened was to drive the residents of the region out of their homes, Hassan said, "As far as I see, the purpose is to seize the entire Ras al-Ayn Hill." he said.
Emphasizing that he is determined to return home despite this, Hassan said, "A person only finds peace in his own home, hopefully I will return home." he said.
Efforts are being made to deliver aid to families under siege
Dozens of Palestinian, Israeli and foreign activists came to the Ras al-Ayn region yesterday and tried to deliver water, food and medicine to families under siege.
It was reported that Israeli forces initially prevented activists from reaching homes directly, but later some basic needs were delivered to the families.
Approximately 80 Israeli activists who came to the region before brought water, food and medicine with them to show solidarity with the families under siege and meet their basic needs.
16 houses in Kusra are under the control of the Israeli army
Kusra Village Council Chairman Abdulazim al-Wadi said that Israeli forces seized 16 houses in and around the town and turned them into military headquarters.
Stating that the soldiers forced the residents of some houses to leave their homes, Vadi stated that the Israeli army withdrew from the town on Friday morning, but the military presence in the surrounding area continued.
While the events in Qusra increased concerns that Palestinians may be forcibly removed from their homes and lands, OHCHR warned that the pressure in the region brings with it the risk of forced displacement of families.
According to the United Nations, attacks by Israelis who have usurped Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank have reached unprecedented levels since the beginning of 2026. The UN reported that approximately 3,800 Palestinians have been displaced since the beginning of the year due to Israeli attacks and demolition and evacuation practices.
The UN considers Israeli settlements and settlements in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, illegal under international law.
