Battocletti triumphs in the 10,000 meters at the European Championships

"It was a beautiful day, I had a lot of fun. The recovery wasn't that high but I'm happy to have reaped the benefits this month. I have to thank my staff who pampered me, the whole town of Cavareno, and I send a kiss to all of Italy. The girls had a slightly tougher race than the 5 thousand, I wanted to do a couple of actions but they preceded me and so I said 'well, go ahead'". These are the words of Nadia Battocletti to Rai after her victory in the 10,000 meters at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

The Italian crowned her father at the finish line: "I'm at this level thanks also to my dad who created all the staff, he's the one who takes care of everything, he understands me instantly from my look. It's good for the heart to be surrounded by this affection". "I should tell myself 'Nadia, look, you're really strong', I'm not saying I don't believe it but I should believe it even more", he concluded then.
