Bayraktar AKINCI Hits with Precision with UAV-122

Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA successfully hit the target in the new firing test carried out with the İHA-122 ammunition developed by ROKETSAN.

New ammunition integration studies for unmanned aerial vehicles continue in the Turkish defense industry. Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA, developed by Baykar, successfully hit the target determined in the firing test carried out with İHA-122 ammunition.

Baykar Chairman of the Board of Directors, Selçuk Bayraktar, shared the test images on his social media account and announced that AKINCI's shot with UAV-122 ammunition was a full hit. In the images published by Anadolu Agency, it was seen that the test was completed successfully.

New hit capability against naval targets from AKINCI

In the shared test footage, it is seen that AKINCI TİHA takes off with the UAV-122 ammunition it carries under its wing and then fires at the target on the sea. The test was completed with the ammunition successfully hitting the target.

The test revealed a new integration capability of AKINCI in its mission range expanded with different ammunition. AKINCI, which has previously been tested with various smart ammunition, missiles and cruise missiles, stands out as one of Turkey's unmanned aerial platforms that can carry the heaviest ammunition, thanks to its high payload capacity.

New stage in UAV-122 integration

Developed by ROKETSAN for use on unmanned aerial platforms, İHA-122 is among the ammunition systems aiming to increase AKINCI's long-range precision strike capability.

With the last test, it seems that another important stage of the work to verify the operational capabilities of the AKINCI and UAV-122 combination has been completed.

The shooting, especially against targets on the sea, draws attention in terms of the fact that heavy-class attack unmanned aerial vehicles can be used not only against land targets but also in long-range precision attack missions in different operational environments.

AKINCI's ammunition family is expanding

Bayraktar AKINCI has recently attracted attention with the tests carried out with ammunition developed by different manufacturers. Integrating the platform with ammunition for different mission profiles expands AKINCI's long-range attack capability as well as reconnaissance and surveillance missions.

The last successful firing test with the UAV-122 was one of the new examples of Turkey's approach to developing unmanned aerial vehicles and domestic missile and ammunition systems together.
