A number of facilities were improved in the Smolensk region under the national project "Tourism and Hospitality"

MOSCOW, July 1 - RIA Novosti. Last year, a number of facilities were improved in the Smolensk region as part of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality,” said Governor Vasily Anokhin.

The results of the implementation of this national project were summed up at a meeting of the regional government.

“In Smolensk, the improvement of the eastern section of the fortress wall has been completed. Comfortable pedestrian paths, modern recreation areas with benches and swings, information stands and other landscaping elements have appeared here. The historical territory has become a comfortable place for walking and relaxing with the whole family,” Anokhin wrote on the Max platform.

He added that a lot of work has been done in Vyazma. In the tourist center of the city, the embankment and central public spaces were landscaped, new benches, trash cans, pergolas, sun loungers, deck chairs and flower stands were installed. In addition, we purchased a modern stage complex, which will allow for even more cultural and festive events.

In Khislavichi, which is preparing to celebrate its 500th anniversary, new shopping pavilions have been installed and the bus ticket office building has been renovated. A number of objects were repaired at the Solovyov Crossing memorial complex in the Kardymovsky district, and the surrounding area was also landscaped.

“The infrastructure of the Gnezdovo museum-reserve has received a large-scale update. New recreational areas have been created here, a ticket pavilion, museum and educational spaces, a cafe, a tent camp, a children’s playground and an observation deck have appeared here. The territory has been equipped with modern lighting, a music broadcast system, navigation, bicycle parking, art objects and security equipment,” the governor noted.

In the Smolensk Poozerie National Park, tourist routes and recreation areas have been improved and information stands have been installed.

“The work continues this year. In Roslavl, we are landscaping the areas near the monument to Prince Rostislav, the T-34 Tank monument and in the Burtseva Gora park. In Vyazma, we continue to update the tourist center. Architectural and artistic lighting of the facade of the Central Palace of Culture on Sovetskaya Square has already been completed, we are landscaping the area around the monument to V.I. Lenin, and creating new sites for holding cultural events,” the head of the region emphasized.
