A murder occurred at Xizhi Hot Fry Shop! Migrant worker stabbed to death in chest after quarrel while toasting; fellow assailant is on the run

A murder case was reported in Xizhi District, New Taipei City early today (7th) early in the morning! Two Vietnamese migrant workers employed by the same company in Xizhi and nine fellow workers allegedly had an argument while toasting at a well-known stir-fried restaurant on Zhongxing Road. One of the migrant workers suddenly stabbed the other migrant worker in the chest with an unknown sharp weapon, causing the other migrant worker to fall to the ground and was sent to the hospital where he died of serious injuries. Xizhi police accidentally brought back 9 migrant workers who were present overnight to clarify what happened at that time and hunt down the escaping migrant workers. The whole case is being investigated on suspicion of injury resulting in death and affray.

At around 1 a.m. this morning, Xizhi police received a report of a conflict between drinkers and drunkards at a well-known hot-fried restaurant on Zhongxing Road. When the police arrived, they saw a foreign migrant worker lying on the ground with a stab wound on his chest. He had no heartbeat and breathing. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. He was treated until about 4 a.m., but he died of serious injuries.

The police interviewed foreign migrant workers at the scene and learned that the assailant and the deceased not only knew each other, but were also employed by the same company. The assailant had a drink and dinner with four migrant workers at a fast food restaurant last night, while the deceased and five other migrant workers were drinking and eating at another table. After drinking until about 1 o'clock, the assailant had a conflict with the deceased while toasting, and suddenly took out an unknown sharp weapon hidden on his body and attacked the deceased. The migrant worker at the same table was so frightened that he had no time to stop him. The assailant fled the scene after committing the crime and did not return to the dormitory.

After the incident, the Xizhi police set up a task force to bring back nine migrant workers who were present overnight to clarify the cause of the conflict between the assailant and the deceased. They also reviewed surrounding surveillance footage to track down the assailant migrant workers.
