Berrettini advances to Paris. Djokovic out, no ATP Finals for him

Matteo Berrettini beats Ugo Humbert and advances to the round of 16 of the Masters 1000 in Paris. The Italian, number 43 in the world, beat the Frenchman (number 38 in the ATP rankings) in two sets, with a score of 7-6 7-5. In the next round, the Roman tennis player will face the winner of the challenge between Carlos Alcaraz and Alex Michelsen.

Novak Djokovic's Finals dream fades away. The Serbian was in fact eliminated in the second round of the Masters 1000 in Paris, losing to the Australian Rinky Hijkata, who came from the qualifiers, in three sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-3). Djokovic is currently eleventh in the rankings for the Finals, and the only chance of a leap in the rankings that would take him to Turin was to at least reach the semifinals in Paris.
