Drunk driver crashes into guard rail several times on B4 near Erfurt

A drunk driver crashed his car into the central barrier several times on Federal Highway 4 near Erfurt. Nobody was injured. The man lost control of his car while driving onto the road at the Kühnhausen junction on Saturday, the police said. The 27-year-old then drove from the acceleration lane head-on into the guardrail in the middle of the road. The car then turned and hit the guardrail again with its rear, it was said. According to the information, a breath alcohol test showed 1.3 per mille. The officers ordered a blood sample. The damage is in the upper four-digit range. A specialist company had to clean the road because of leaked operating materials. The driver is being investigated for endangering road traffic.
