Small plane crash in Fresno kills two children and injures two others

"Two children were killed after a small plane crashed in the Fresno area on Saturday... and two other adults were taken to the hospital in critical condition," the newspaper reported.

The plane, which was carrying four people, crashed near the San Joaquin River shortly before 2 p.m. local time.

Tony Botti, public information officer for the Fresno County Sheriff's Office, told the California Post that authorities received a report around 1:50 p.m. of a plane crash near the north end of Blythe Street, near Sierra Sky Park.

The newspaper indicated that the causes of the tragedy are currently unknown.
