Deputy Commander of the Revolutionary Guard Navy questions the narrative of American control over the Strait of Hormuz

Mohammadi said: “During the ten days ending on August 30, the Navy punished between two and five violating ships every night, and after that, whenever the Navy deemed it necessary, it confronted and punished the violating ships.”

Ali Mohammadi described the recent attacks launched by American terrorist forces on several areas of the country as a response to our capable operations and Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.

He continued: "In recent days, the Americans have repeatedly claimed that control of the Strait of Hormuz is in the hands of the US Central Command, that the Iranian Navy does not have the ability to supervise the Strait, and that oil tankers and other ships can pass through the illegal southern corridor."

He added: "In this context, they also published false numbers about the amount of oil passing through this corridor. However, the direct American intervention in the clashes raised important questions about the credibility of this story."

The Deputy Commander of the Revolutionary Guard Navy for Political Affairs asked: “If the American narrative about controlling the Strait of Hormuz is correct, what is the need for direct intervention in the clashes?”

Mohammadi added: “If the Americans already have the ability to manage the Strait and pass oil through the illegal southern corridor, then why are they forced to pay more military costs and losses as a result of the Iranian response to their attack?”
