'Good behavior' discount for Fethi Şancı, who killed Aysel Karakoç in Beykoz

In the incident that took place on October 15, 2025 in Beykoz Çubuklu District, Fethi Şancı went to the house of Aysel Karakoç, with whom he had left a while ago, under the pretext of reconciliation. As the argument between the two escalated, Şancı stabbed Karakoç 5 times in the throat, chest and groin area.

Aysel Karakoç, who was taken to Paşabahçe State Hospital in Beykoz by ambulance after the first intervention at the scene, could not be saved despite all the interventions and lost her life. Şancı, who was taken into custody after the incident, was arrested by the court for the crime of 'premeditated murder'.

The case in which Fethi Şancı was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment was heard today at the Anatolian 27th High Criminal Court. Aysel Karakoç's family and party lawyers attended the hearing, where the detained defendant Fethi Şancı was present. Announcing his opinion on the merits, the public prosecutor requested that the defendant be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment.

Asked for his last words, detained defendant Şancı said that he was very sorry. While the hearing was interrupted for the decision to be written, Aysel Karakoç's siblings and mother attacked the defendant. A 4-day disciplinary prison sentence was given for Karakoç's two siblings, who were taken out with the intervention of gendarmerie and security personnel, while a criminal complaint was filed against his mother.

LIFE PRISON WITH 'GOOD CONDUCT DISCOUNT'

Announcing its decision, the court sentenced the detained defendant Fethi Şancı to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "deliberate murder of a woman". The committee ruled that the defendant should be sentenced to life imprisonment by applying a 'good behavior reduction'.
