The interrogations

The first to appear before the investigators will be Iannuzzi, whose arrest is scheduled for 12. Then Aiello will be heard. Unlike her partner, Beatrice's mother has been in prison since February 9, the day on which she was accused of manslaughter in connection with the death of the little girl. The charge was then changed to after the investigations which led the Prosecutor's Office to contest the crime of aggravated mistreatment which caused the death of the little girl. An aggravation of the position of the two suspects, as explained by the Imperia prosecutor Alberto Lari: "If manslaughter is punished from 10 to 18 years, mistreatment aggravated by the two contested circumstances provides for a sentence of 12 to 24 years".

Violence against the child

From what we read in the investigating judge's order, little Beatrice was subjected to continuous physical violence. Two days before her death, a couple of friends had seen her with bruises and swelling, in bed, suffering. The woman's other two daughters, aged 7 and 9, heard in a protected hearing, recounted various episodes in which they tearfully asked both their mother and her partner to take their little sister to hospital, but they were always kept quiet. Photos and videos testifying to the mistreatment were found in the phone of the man, described as "cruel in nature".

Death

On the night between 8 and 9 February, Beatrice was hit several times with a blunt object that has not yet been identified. Shots that caused his death. To justify the bruises and swelling, the couple had told the investigators about a fall, an excuse that immediately seemed unlikely.

The little sisters abandoned by their mother

The investigation documents reveal that the two little sisters aged 7 and 9 were essentially abandoned by their mother. According to what is emerging, Emanuela Aiello had "isolated" her daughters from the rest of the world. "Adultized little girls", write the social workers in the report included in the prosecutor's file, who despite their very young age looked after Beatrice, cleaned the house, went to school with good results. They too were subjugated and mistreated by their mother and partner. The woman's behavior towards the two girls is being examined by the judiciary. It is not excluded, even if for the moment there is no confirmation, that she could also be accused of child abandonment.
