Honored Artist of Russia Gennady Spiridenkov died due to a blood clot caused by bleeding

Honored Artist of Russia Gennady Spiridenkov, who starred in the series “Streets of Broken Lanterns”, “Secrets of the Investigation” and many others, died due to a detached blood clot. It turned out to be provoked by gastrointestinal bleeding, as the actor’s daughter Svetlana Spiridenkova told RIA Novosti journalists.

According to her, the artist lost consciousness on stage during the performance. He began to experience gastrointestinal bleeding and resuscitation was called. “They tried to pump him out with a defibrillator, stabilized him and took him to the Mariinsky Hospital,” the interlocutor said.

In the hospital, Spiridenkov’s condition was stabilized only for a while, but his health began to deteriorate again. Doctors began to drip blood into the patient to raise hemoglobin, which had fallen due to bleeding. At 05:30 in the morning, the artist lost a blood clot, Svetlana said.

Spiridenkov was born in 1956. He received his acting education at the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography. In the 1980s, the artist performed on the stage of the Leningrad Youth Theater. In 1993, Spiridenkov became part of the troupe of the St. Petersburg Miniature Theater. In addition, he worked as a spoken word artist in the Petersburg Concert, and also served in the St. Petersburg Comedians Theater.

Over the years of his career, the actor has played more than 50 roles in films and television projects. His greatest fame came from his work in the TV series “Secrets of the Investigation”, “Nevsky”, “Streets of Broken Lanterns”, “Liteiny” and “Cop Wars”.
