MOSCOW, October 3 - RIA Novosti. Refugees from Palestine are actively adapting to life in the southern regions of Russia: adults find jobs in their specialty in Russian government institutions or open their own catering outlets, and children study Russian with teachers who speak Arabic, Sergei Nuppa, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Mineralnye Vody, told RIA Novosti.
In an interview with the agency, the diplomat indicated that Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia and Ingushetia received and housed dozens of refugees evacuated from Palestine, including both Russian and foreign citizens.
“Work is actively underway to adapt to life in Russia: adult family members are focusing on finding work, children have been provided with places in kindergartens and schools, and the necessary school supplies and textbooks have been allocated,” Nuppa shared.
To help refugee children learn Russian and integrate into Russian society, Arabic-speaking teachers provide them with additional classes, Nuppa noted.
Many adult refugees are helped with employment in their profession, he added.
“Engineers, teachers and doctors have found work in Russian government agencies, and several Palestinians have opened their own catering outlets,” the diplomat said.
