An autonomous unmanned boat was successfully tested in the Murmansk region

An uncrewed boat created in the Murmansk region successfully carried out the world's first autonomous expedition beyond the Arctic Circle, Governor Andrei Chibis said.

“The uncrewed boat, created in Murmansk, successfully carried out the world’s first autonomous expedition beyond the Arctic Circle,” Chibis wrote in a channel on the Max platform.

Speaking at the program forum of United Russia supporters “Live in the North!” in Murmansk, Chibis said that the boat of the “Heroes of the Fog” project traveled almost 170 kilometers along the route Liinakhamari - Ura-Guba.

“Our guys did this. As part of the tests, the boat has already covered 130 nautical miles. The issue in navigation systems is Murmansk competence. We decided to create a research and production center and a training ground for unmanned systems,” Chibis said at the forum.

According to the head of the region, the prospect for the development of the project is the delivery of goods by sea, including to remote settlements.
