An Israeli military force targets residential neighborhoods in the village of Maariya in the western countryside of Daraa

Community sources in Daraa Governorate reported that an Israeli military force, stationed in the Al-Jazeera barracks, targeted at dawn on Tuesday residential neighborhoods in the village of Maariya in the western countryside of Daraa, using heavy machine guns.

These attacks coincided with intense flights of Israeli drones over large areas in southern Syria, especially in the countryside of Daraa and Quneitra, in an atmosphere characterized by escalation.

This attack was preceded by an Israeli force firing three artillery shells targeting the Tal Ahmar area east of Quneitra, in continuation of the series of violations committed by the occupation forces.

Local sources in Daraa also reported to RT that an Israeli army force entered through the Tal Abu al-Ghaithar gate and headed on the Saisun-Jumla road in the Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of the governorate.

According to the sources, the force consisting of 10 military vehicles entered the village of Jamla, and its members spread among the residential neighborhoods, while marches and reconnaissance aircraft flew over the area, while no information was received about any arrests of Syrian citizens.

The Israeli army continues its incursions into southern Syrian regions under air cover from warplanes and drones. Its practices include intimidating civilians and shooting randomly, as well as carrying out almost daily arrests, erecting barriers, checking the identities of passers-by, and raising dirt berms. These forces also spray toxic pesticides and prevent farmers from reaching their lands and shepherds from their pastures.

This escalation comes in light of the continued Israeli military movements, as the Quneitra and Daraa governorates witness from time to time incursions into Syrian territory, accompanied by shooting incidents and separate targeting in the border areas. These events reflect the ongoing state of security tension in the region.
