The Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board, under the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), has just asked contractors and supervision consultants to increase construction during holidays and holidays.

According to the investor, the remaining time to complete phase one of Long Thanh airport as requested by the Government is not much, while many items are entering the sprint phase.

Contractors are required to maintain normal construction on holidays, weekends and other times as planned, to avoid disruption to the overall progress. Human resources, machinery, equipment and materials must be fully arranged for the construction site to operate continuously.

In case of construction at night or on holidays, the contractor must ensure labor safety, security, environmental sanitation, lighting and fire prevention.

The Project Management Board will increase inspections at the construction site. Contractors who do not meet the requirements or affect the progress will be recorded, asked to correct and may be handled according to the contract.

Long Thanh Airport is about 5,000 hectares wide, with a total investment capital of nearly 16 billion USD. Phase one includes a runway, a passenger terminal, capacity of 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo per year, expected to be operational by the end of 2026.

When operating, Long Thanh and Tan Son Nhat will take on the role of aviation gateway in the Ho Chi Minh City region, contributing to reducing the load on the existing airport and opening up more space for international flights and cargo transport.
