Funeral home and secular vigil for Emma Bonino: the last farewell of the institutions and citizens

The burning chamber

In the past few hours, many personalities and ordinary citizens participated in the funeral home that welcomed Bonino's coffin and where his sister Domenica was always present. Among those who wanted to pay a final farewell to the historic figure of the Italian radicals were Enrico Letta, Massimo D'Alema, Poalo Gentiloni, Gianfranco Fini, Pier Ferdinando Casini and Nicola Fratoianni, just to name a few. The mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, also went to the Funeral Chamber, while the Spanish ambassador to Italy, Miquel Fernandez-Palacios, delivered a message from the Royal Family of Spain to Bonino's family. Guido Crosetto and Antonio Tajani also arrived for the final farewell and wanted to remember Emma Bonino as "a fighter". The M5S leader, Giuseppe Conte, also paid homage.

The vigil

His last party, +Europa, also organized a secular vigil which was attended not only by Benedetto della Vedova, but also by Roberto Saviano, the secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein, Angelo Bonelli and historical radical friends of Bonino such as the current treasurer of +Europa, Carla Taibi, Sergio D'Elia and Filomena Gallo of the Coscioni association.
