Candidate Augusto Cury defends investigation by Banco Master and criticizes distrust in institutions

The candidate for President of the Republic Augusto Cury (Avante) defended, during the electoral campaign in São José do Rio Preto (SP), this Friday (4), the investigations related to Banco Master.

Questioned by reporter Marina Lacerda, from TV TEM, about the alleged relationship between Daniel Vorcaro and ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Cury stated that "this has to be investigated until the final consequences". Watch above.

The candidate also highlighted the population's lack of trust in Brazilian institutions. "I realize that more and more Brazilians are feeling hopeless, discouraged, thinking that institutions serve the person who holds the position much more than society itself," he commented.

The PF report became public on Tuesday (1st) after minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of the Master case at the STF, removed the confidentiality of the document.

During his visit to the interior of SP, Augusto Cury (Avante) reinforced his defense of the investigation into the Master case being carried out by the Federal Police.

"It has to be done with maximum impartiality, without pre-judgment, but at the same time the signs are extremely worrying. It has to be investigated to the last consequences. I reiterate: every public employee, whether elected by the people or not, owes full satisfaction to their boss, who is the taxpayer. And this taxpayer is without hope and no longer believes in institutions", comments Augusto.

Finally, the candidate promised: "in my eventual government, no one will be spared. From the president to ministers, to collaborators, because we are just employees of society", he concludes.

The statement was made during a visit by Cury to a private school held on Friday night. In the afternoon, he paid a visit to the Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto, where he proposed the implementation of advanced telemedicine to relieve the queue of the Unified Health System (SUS). Visit to Rio Preto

The candidate was in São José do Rio Preto to participate in a LIDE event (group of business leaders) and visit the Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto (Famerp). During the interview, he discussed economics, education, health and entrepreneurship.

The visit to São José do Rio Preto also had a personal aspect for the candidate. Cury says he met his wife, to whom he has been married for 43 years, when he was studying at Famerp.

"She won me over (in college) and, from then on, we built this 43-year journey," he said.
