The expensive fuel
The numbers show a constant increase. Comparing them with those relating to last August 5th, to date there has been a growth of 5.5 cents per liter for green fuel and 6.7 cents per liter for diesel. In fact, exactly one month ago the prices on the road network were 1.997 euros per liter for petrol and 2.097 euros per liter for diesel.
The increase in the last few days
As reported by Massimiliano Dona, president of the National Consumers Union, commenting on the Mimit averages, from 1 September to today on the motorway "a 50 liter tank of diesel costs 1.65 euros more, a tank of petrol 1.70 euros more". In the road network "the jump is 1.70 for diesel and 1.50 for petrol", he added. "The Government continues to extend a discount on excise duties on diesel which is equal to half of what would be needed, while on petrol it has not done anything for 2 months, since 4 July", reiterated Dona, underlining that "the structural measures that the Government is now talking about are just a mockery to allocate less money, reducing excise duties, instead of for everyone, only for a few categories of Italians, perhaps passing the cost on to businesses as with the bonuses for commuters, but they do not prevent the oil companies from make extra profits in the millions."
