Catholic, he drives his car into the canal port after an argument: saved by his wife, he flees

He drove his car into the canal port of Cattolica (Rimini), apparently after an argument, with his wife sitting next to him. Moments of fear, then the boot door opened and the two managed to resurface, helped by some people who jumped into the water to save them. But while the medics were giving first aid to the husband and wife, suddenly the 45-year-old man, as soon as he recovered, fled among the rocks, losing track of himself.

The 42-year-old woman was taken to hospital for checks but, as far as we know, only as a precaution and therefore her life is not in danger.

The man, of Albanian nationality like his wife, is now wanted by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rimini and by his colleagues from Cattolica. Just yesterday the 45-year-old, resident in San Giovanni in Marignano, was arrested for resisting a public official, after the police intervened following a report of a domestic dispute. At the moment there appear to be no complaints against the man for violence against his wife. The 45-year-old has little precedent, but it is very old.

In addition to the carabinieri, the firefighters, the Port Authority and 118 intervened on site in Cattolica.
