Works about a special military operation are included in the school literature curriculum.

The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation has prepared a list of works for extracurricular reading of a patriotic nature, created by modern writers, including works about the Northern Military District.

The list of works is distributed by age category and includes sections devoted to various aspects of Russian history and culture.

MOSCOW, September 7 - RIA Novosti. Works about a special military operation were included in the school literature curriculum, Elena Yampolskaya, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Presidential Council for the Implementation of State Policy in the Sphere of Supporting the Russian Language and People’s Languages, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

She noted that in August 2025, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation prepared a list of works for extracurricular reading of a patriotic nature, created by modern writers.

“It (the list - ed.), in particular, presents works about SVO. Extracurricular reading is an integral and obligatory part of the Federal educational program. Special hours are provided for this. So works about SVO are already part of the school literature curriculum,” Yampolskaya said in an interview on the Day of Languages ​​of the Peoples of Russia.

The current list of works for extracurricular reading includes works by modern authors aimed at the patriotic education of schoolchildren. Literature is distributed by age categories: grades 1–4, grades 5–9 and grades 10–11. The list consists of such sections as “About the Native Land”, “The Great Patriotic War. Historical memory and tradition”, “About the great people of Russia”, “Commanders of Holy Rus'”, “On guard of the Russian land”, “For ours”.
