People's Party Taichung City Beitun District Councilor Candidate Qiu Yushan defeated Wu Huangsheng with 74% of the party's primary vote and was nominated by the party. She said that Chen Qinglong, the chairman of the People's Party, asked to withdraw from the election because of lagging behind in the polls and giving young people a chance. If she did not withdraw, she would report to the Election Committee to recruit Wu Huangsheng for another seat in accordance with the rules. She expressed injustice and stressed that she would persist in running to the end and would definitely come back to win.

Qiu Yushan said that Chen Qinglong used an unpublished poll as evidence yesterday that her support was lagging behind, but without explaining the poll data, he directly advised her to withdraw from the election. He also said that if she did not withdraw from the election, she would report it to the party election committee. According to regulations, if there are more seats in the constituency, another candidate can be recruited, and she asked her to consider it carefully.
