Guterres welcomed diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is encouraged by recent diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, including visits by senior US officials to Moscow and Kyiv. This was stated by the official representative of the head of the world organization, Stephane Dujarric, TASS reports.

“The Secretary General is encouraged by recent diplomatic efforts, including visits by senior U.S. officials to Moscow and Kyiv,” he said.

As the UN representative noted, Guterres expects that the latest diplomatic initiatives will allow the resumption of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, Dujarric stressed that the UN is ready to support any efforts aimed at advancing the settlement process.
