NPT Review Conference ends without outcome document

The NPT Review Conference ended without a final document because of the United States and its allies, the Iranian Permanent Mission to the UN said.

The Iranian mission warned that without nuclear disarmament there could be no future for the NPT.

UN, May 23 - RIA Novosti. The NPT Review Conference ended without a final document because of the United States and its allies, the Iranian Permanent Mission to the UN said.

Participants in the NPT Review Conference were previously unable to adopt the final document. The chairman of the relevant conference, Do Hung Viet, announced that he did not intend to submit the document for adoption, since the conference was not able to reach agreement. At previous conferences in 2015 and 2022, the final document was also not agreed upon.

“The NPT Review Conference failed for the third time in a row due to the obstructionism of the United States and its allies,” Iranian Permanent Mission H. said in a post on social media.
